Ingredients

Ingredients for Cake:

  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 4 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon of Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 4 Tablespoons of Vegetable Oil
  • 4 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract

Ingredients for the crumble:

  • 3 1/2 Cups of Flour
  • 2 Cups of Light brown sugar
  • 3 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 3 Sticks of Unsalted butter (melted)
  • Confectioner’s Sugar
  • ½ Cup Maple Syrup

Instructions

  1. Grease a roasting pan (minimum size of 9×13)
  2. Combine all the dry ingredients together for the cake; flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
  3. Combine all the wet ingredients together in a separate bowl; milk, oil, vanilla, and eggs
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients slowly while mixing thoroughly. You can do this by hand or with an electric beater
  5. Consistency of batter will be more like a thick muffin mix, pour into your baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Now time for the crumble topping; mix the flour, brown sugar and cinnamon together.
  7. Pour the melted butter over the top slowly and mix together, you want a consistency of wet sand.
  8. Lightly sprinkle the crumble mixture to the top of the raw batter
  9. Cook in the oven at 325 degrees F for 40-45 minutes, use the toothpick test to ensure no batter sticks and the toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Poke the cake with a fork approximately 10-15 times all over
  11. Drizzle the maple syrup all over the cake
  12. Dust with confectioner’s sugar and it’s ready to be served
