Southern Style Biscuits
If you want those southern style biscuits you have to use lard. This is the secret taught to me by Miss Lily a frequent visitor of Vivian Howards show on PBS called A Chef's Life. I was lucky enough to have cooked biscuits with them both in their home town of Kinston NC. Make these and freeze them for later like I did for this country ham biscuit- A fantastic Southern breakfast sandwich served with homemade apple butter.

Notes
In my videoΒ I tried the silicone baking sheet and also tried parchment paper- do not use the parchment as the temps are too high.Β I also used the top and middle racks I only recommend using the top rack.Β
I love a good country ham biscuit with apple butter!
