Recipe for making a fast and easy wonton dinner
I found this great little meal hack. Costco carries these chicken and cilantro wontons for only about $6 for a huge bag. it is easy to whip together without even having to thaw them ahead of time which makes this so easy on a weeknight.
Ingredients
- 16 Frozen Mini Wontons ().
- ¼ of a White Onion (sliced)
- 3 Baby Carrots (cut into matchsticks)
- 3 Brussel Sprouts (cut into quarters)
- 1 Teaspoon of Fresh Ginger (minced)
- 1 Clove of Garlic (minced)
- 3 Tablespoons of Orange Juice
- 2 Tablespoons of Chicken Stock
- 2 Teaspoons of Lime Juice
- 1 Tablespoons of Butter
- 2 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons of Rice Wine Vinegar
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a frying pan to medium heat and add the butter.
- Once melted, add the Brussel sprouts, carrots, onion, garlic, and ginger.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the frozen wontons to the pan, mix and let cook for 1 minute.
- Add the lime juice, orange juice, chicken stock, and soy sauce.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook 5-6 minutes on medium heat.
- Add the black pepper and rice wine vinegar.
- Put the lid back on the pan and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Turn the heat off, leave the lid on and let sit for 2 minutes before serving.
