Chinese Brown Duck Sauce

How to make duck sauce with applesauce

We never seem to get enough in our take out orders or have any around the house when we need it. Most people do not realize just how simple and easy it is to make. Anyone can quickly pull together this delicious sauce to go with their Asian cuisine.

Duck Sauce Recipe


  • 2 Oz. of Apple Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons of Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon of Apricot Jam (I used Apricot/Peach since that was all that was available and it was fine).
  • 2 Oz. of Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon of Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Ginger Powder


No cooking needed. Combine all ingredients and stir well. Let it sit for 30 minutes before serving.

Goes great on crispy duck breast, egg rolls, Chinese spare ribs or wontons.
