Bodega is a Tapas restaurant located in downtown of Wake Forest right on White street. They are officially called Bodega Wine and Rum. They have 40 wines on their menu and specialize in rum cocktails. They opened in 2019 just before the pandemic and we are happy to see that they not only survived but thrived in these past years.
This is a perfect date night spot that you can sit quietly and nosh without feeling too full. Tonic is just a few doors down as is Broadside and Brews, and Unwind on White for live music and adult beverages.
What we like is the menu has not changed too much over the years. It is comforting to go back and have your favorites on the menu.
We enjoy the marinated olives they are citrusy and garlicky but not overpowered with garlic. Just enough to make you want to chomp into another with a sip of red wine.
The cheese board is also a good choice with quince paste and fig cake you can’t go wrong.
Moderately priced for tapas and the quality of the food is good. Do not come hungry, just know this is not a big dinner place. they do however offer a few entrees. This is for savoring, tasting, and enjoying. Perfect on a day that you had a big lunch.
We split this seasonal entree one night a while back, but I can tell you that we thought it was good. However, it was not memorable enough for us to talk about.
We have eaten in restaurants that we crave the food enough to go back often. We have some that we can recall the dishes years later.
For us, Bodega even though a fine tapas restaurant, did not hit that way.
