Caprese Dip
This is a hot dip that is always a hit. The cheese, tomato, and spices are balanced with the crunch of the crostini. So simple yet so full of flavor. You may want to make a double batch because it disappears quickly.

Equipment
- 1 Measuring cup
- 1 Set of measuring spoons
- 1 Baking pan We used a disposable pan
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Spatula
- 1 Bread Knife
- 1 Small Cutting Board for the tomatoes
- 1 Large Cutting board for the bread
- 1 Cooling rack to place on the baking sheet for cooking the crostini
Ingredients
- 8 Oz Colby Jack Cheese Shredded or Monterey Jack
- 8 Oz Mozzarella Cheese Shredded
- 1 Cup Sour Cream
- 1/2 Tsp Dry Mustard
- 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Tsp Dried Thyme
- 1 Tsp Herbs de Provence
- 1 Cup Basil Fresh only, plus a little for the top once its is cooked
- 2 French Baguettes
- 1/8 Cup Olive oil
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients
- Preheat your oven to 350 F
- Slice the tomatoes in half and remove the seeds with a spoon
- Dice the tomatoes and set aside
- Spray your pan with a little cooking spray (optional)
- Add the sour cream to mixing bowl
- Add in all the dry spices
- Mix it all together
- Add in the cheeses
- Add the cup of fresh basil
- Spread the mixture into the baking pan
- Top with the tomatoes
- Place in the oven for 12-13 minutes
- Meanwhile slice the baguette into thin slices and place on the rack that is sitting in the baking sheet
- Once your dip has cooked for 12-13 minutes turn the oven to broil
- Drizzle the bread with a little olive oil
- Leave the dip in the oven and place the crostini in to brown on broil
- Remove them all once the dip and the bread are browned to your liking (approx. 3 minutes)
- Place the rest of the fresh chopped basil on top of your warm dip
- Serve with your crostini

It was goobled up by family and I went to bed wanting more. OML. I put a some of my own ingredients in it too. Added some spinach and Thyme.
