Chocolate-Chip Brownie Reese Cookie

Ingredients
The Cookie Dough
- ¾ Cup Shortening
- 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Egg
- 1 ¼ Cups Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Milk
- 1 ½ Teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- ¾ Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 ½ Teaspoon Honey
- 2 Cups Chocolate Chips
The Brownie Mix
- 3/4 Cups Butter cut into little squares for melting in the microwave
- 3/4 Cup Cocoa Powder I used dark but light or dark can be used
- 1 2/3 Cup Sugar
- 1 Tablespoons Water
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 3 Eggs Large beaten
- 1 ⅓ Cups Flour
- ½ Teaspoon Baking Powder
- ¼ Teaspoon Salt
Other Ingredients
- 14 oz Mini Reeses cups foil removed
- Cooking spray
Instructions
The Cookie Dough
- Blend the brown sugar and shortening together.
- Add the milk and egg together with the sugar mixture, once incorporated add the honey.
- In a separate bowl, add your flour, baking soda and salt together.
- Gradually start adding your flour mixture to your sugar, add ½ cup at a time mixing thoroughly.
- Once all the flour is mixed, you can add your chocolate chip morsels and mix.
The Brownie Mix
- Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside.
- Melt your butter in the microwave.
- Add into the butter, the cocoa, sugar, and eggs (mix well with a spatula, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
- In the same bowl as the butter mixture, add in the flour mixture, a little at a time, making sure you are mixing it together well.
Assembling and Cooking
- Coat a mini muffin pan with cooking spray
- Take 1 large teaspoon of cookie dough and press lightly into the muffin tray
- Spoon tablespoon of brownie batter on top of the cookie dough and bake at 350° F for 10-12 minutes
- Remove from oven and press (1) Reese cup down in middle until it's sinks in.
- Let cool for 30+ minutes before trying to remove from pan. (I prefer to press and twist out of pan to avoid marks with knife)
Notes
You can substitute packaged chocolate chip cookie dough and box brownie mix and still have a good result. However for flavor and your budget, homemade is always better.
