Ingredients
  

For The Tart Crust

  • ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter chilled and cubed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2-3 tbsp cold water
  • Pinch salt

For The Apple Filling

  • 5 Granny Smith apples medium size peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

For the Crumble Topping:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • cup rolled oats
  • cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted

For the Caramel Drizzle:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter room temperature, cut into cubes
  • ½ cup heavy cream room temperature
  • Pinch salt optional

Instructions
 

Prepare the Tart Crust:

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Cut in the chilled butter using a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add the egg yolk and 2 tablespoons of cold water, mixing until the dough comes together. Add more water if needed.
  • Form the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F

Prepare the Apple Filling:

  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour. Toss until the apples are well coated.

Prepare the Crumble Topping:

  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Pour in the melted butter and mix until the topping is crumbly.

Assemble the Tart:

  • Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface and fit it into a tart pan with a removable bottom.
  • Add the apple filling, spreading it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples.

Bake the Tart:

  • Bake the tart for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Prepare the Caramel Drizzle:

  • In a medium saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it melts and turns amber.
  • Carefully add the butter, stirring until melted.
  • Slowly pour in the heavy cream while continuing to stir. Be cautious as the mixture may bubble up.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the salt if using.
  • Let the caramel cool slightly before drizzling over the tart.
