While the amount of sodium in this homemade Buffalo sauce is almost half of the amount in most prepared sauces, it still has quite a bit of salt. If you are concerned about the amount of sodium in the recipe you can exchange the Franks Red Hot Sauce for a lower sodium brand like Dave's.
There is varying information about how long you can keep a sauce like this. Some keep it as long as up to one month. I would advise keeping this sauce covered for only up to 10 days in the refrigerator and only reheating the portion you plan to use in one sitting. After 10 days discard the unused potion.
The sauce when refrigerated will separate and congeal, this is due to the butter becoming solid. Let it sit out for a few moments to soften and then stir before heating any portion.
To make this sauce hotter more like a medium flavor you can add a 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
