Buttery Biscuits

- 2 Cups Flour
- 1 Tbs Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Salt
- ½ Tsp Sugar
- 1 Cup Milk 2% or higher
- 1/2 Cup Shortening
- ¼ Cup Butter softened not melted
- 1 Tsp Honey
- 3 Tsp Butter melted
Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl (flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar).
Add the shortening and ¼ soft butter in, using 2 knives (slice it into the flour mixture, don’t mix with a spoon). It should still be dry and clumpy.
Add the milk to mixture ¼ cup at a time and incorporate.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and sprinkle more flour on top. Form into a large bowl and knead 5-7 times.
Roll the dough into a long snake-like shape and cut 2-1/2 ” thick
Place biscuits on a sheet pan with a silicone mat or parchment paper cook for 15 minutes.
When you take the biscuits out of the oven, brush melted butter over the top of each one and then drizzle the honey.
