- 1/3 Cup Basil
- 1 Cup Sea Salt
Wash and dry the basil
Preheat your convection oven to 220F
Pulse the basil
Add the salt and pulse it all together. It smells fabulous at this point
Spread the basil salt onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Cook the salt and basil for 10 minutes on convection/bake and them break it up with a spatula
Place it back in the oven for 10 more minutes
Feel it to make sure it has dried to your liking
Place it back into the food processor and pulse a few more times (Optional) creates a smaller grain of salt
Put it back in the oven for 5 more minutes (optional) Ensures a good and dry product for storing
If preparing in an oven that is non convection - adjustments must be made to time and temp
