Rob's Simple Dry Rub Recipe
This rub will only take a few minutes to blend together. Lots of flavor and sure to please everyone. The blend of heat from the spice and sweet taste of the brown sugar makes for some tasty BBQ. Don’t be afraid to try adding or substituting any ingredients. This is a starter rub and intended for you to modify as time goes by till you have a recipe that is uniquely your own.

- 1 Whisk
- 1 Container w cover
Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Paprika
- 1/2 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 1/4 Cup Kosher Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Oregano
- 1 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper
Instructions
- Start with the brown sugar and add it to your mixing bowl
- Add the salt
- Add the pepper
- Combine all the rest of ingredients into the bowl and mix well with a whisk
- Pour into a mason jar and add a cover.
- Store in the refrigerator and your rub will keep for several months
Notes
A little addition of chili powder or chipotle can give it a Texas style or a bit of maple sugar can give it more of a New England style.
