  • Make the syrup at least 3 hours before you intend to use it. It can be made a even a day ahead time and stored in the refrigerator.
  • In a sauce pan whisk together the water, brown sugar, and spices
  • Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer uncovered for at least 5 minutes
  • Let it cool for no more than two hours for food safety reasons. Add the syrup to a Mason Jar and place in the refrigerator.

The Apple Rose

  • Wash an apple
  • Peel the apple all around without stopping so that you have a long strip.
  • Lay the apple on a flat surface and roll it up. Fan out the sides like a rose
  • If you are not using immediately place the roses in a mixture of lemon and water to keep them from browning.

The Cocktail

  • In your chilled cocktail shaker filled with ice add the bourbon, cider, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  • Shake and pour into a glass of your choice we poured into both a Coupe and a Highball glass and both look great
